Sargis Alam has stated, "Until Sheikh Hasina's trial takes place, no one should even mention elections. No elections will be held in Bangladesh until the murderer Hasina faces the gallows."
He made these remarks after paying tribute to the martyrs at the Rayerbazar Mass Grave site in the capital on Tuesday, March 4, following a prayer for the fallen students of the 1952 Language Movement.
He further added, "We were on the streets. The brothers who gave their lives on the streets, the mothers whose eyes are still shedding tears, we wish to witness the trial of the murderer Hasina before we die. I request you all, we will do everything possible from our side to stand by the mothers. The murderer Hasina must be brought to Bangladesh and made to stand trial, she will stand at the gallows."
During the prayer and tribute session, National Citizen Party (NCP) leader Nahid Islam, Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary, Southern Region Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah, Senior Joint Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud, and many other party members were present.
